Cochrane's new interactive table goes down a treat

Residents at Cochrane Care Home are delighted with their new interactive table which provides daily entertainment and stimulation to elderly residents, those with learning disabilities and dementia.

The fact that residents across our homes have been unable to spend quality time with their loved ones as a result of Coronavirus related restrictions, has been heartbreaking for our ladies and gents, their families and our staff.

At Silverline Care, we are adapting the way we work in response to the virus to provide the best care and part of this involves our teams looking for innovative ways to try and keep our residents as safe, happy and content as possible during these uncertain times.

As well as our digital care plans, we are rolling out electronic check in systems to streamline the way people enter our homes and help keep everyone safe.

In recent months, our homes have been equipped with additional phones and iPads to help keep families connected during lock down, and many of our homes have been participating in virtual quizzes, shows and socialising via online community groups.

The introduction of the interactive table is a perfect addition to our activities programme as it has a huge selection of interactive apps that can be chosen to suit each individuals needs and interests.

Here is Eva enjoying some time with Lainey. Ewa loves playing games of Solitair on her own tablet and was absolutely over the moon when she saw the size of this one.

The table has been a great success already at Cochrane Care Home. The surfaces can be easily cleaned and it be easily moved around the units for all residents to enjoy.

We are planning to introduce the tables in more of our homes in the near future.
