Residents and their family enjoy pet therapy at Springhill

Studies have shown that involving people with dementia in activities with animals decreased their feelings of anxiety and sadness and increased physical activity and positive emotions.

With this in mind, our care homes regularly welcome petting zoos, therapet-dogs and miniature ponies with the aim of putting our residents at ease and giving them a fun experience.

At Springhill Care Home recently, some of our residents' families even joined and were delighted to meet the furry friends.

Margaret loves little cuddly animals and she was happy to have a visitor.

Lots of fun had by all which left everyone in a good frame of mind.
