Manorcroft Care Home

Manorcroft Care Home is a highly comfortable residence, positioned in the leafy suburbs of Dewsbury just a few minutes walk from the town centre with all its shops, entertainment and other amenities.

Apart from its well-manicured outdoor areas, the home is also adjacent to parkland and playing fields, offering good opportunities to take in the outdoors.

The home is very much community-based with lots of input from local schools, churches and mosques. The local infant and junior school are taking part in a dementia care initiative and groups of children will come in and spend time within the home, chatting to residents, learning about their lives.

Important update 22/10/2020

We can confirm that a number of residents at Manorcroft Care Home have recently tested positive for Covid-19 and as such the home is temporarily closed to all non-essential visitors.

We are working closely with the home’s local authority and health board to ensure that these residents are been provided appropriate treatment.

Please rest assured our care homes operate rigorous infection control procedures at all times to ensure that our residents and staff remain as safe as possible.

We have also adopted further clinical measures at Manorcroft to help reduce the virus spreading further.

Please read the latest update regarding Coronavirus on our news page including information on ways to stay connected with your loved one in our care while these restrictions are in place.

We appreciate this is a difficult time for families and appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch for further information or update regarding your loved one by using the tab on the right-hand side of this page or please call the home manager on 01924 452653.

Our approach to care

Manorcroft Care Home offers residential care, nursing, and dementia care plus, subject to availability, respite and convalescent care. The care home has a particular expertise in assisting residents with specific medical needs with a team of highly skilled registered nurses.

Daily activities

Our activities coordinator organises a weekly schedule of activities and entertainment to keep life fun and engaging for our residents. Residents are able to explore the local community and beyond through trips and excursions in our own minibus.

Our chef prepares a delicious menu of three meals a day plus snacks. Personal preferences and dietary requirements are fully catered for so that all residents look forward to mealtimes.

Manorcroft Care Home is positioned in the leafy suburbs of Dewsbury, just a few minutes walk from the town centre with all its shops, entertainment and other amenities. This is a modern purpose-built property, with 40 single rooms all with en-suite facilities. There are four comfortable and homely day rooms with comfortable seating and dining accommodation, offering the opportunity for residents to comfortably socialise.

Manorcroft Care Home provides a real ‘home from home’ environment for our residents.  Each room offers en-suite facilities and our lounge areas have been beautifully redecorated for our residents to enjoy with each other and with their families during visits.

The local churches of different denominations hold services within the home. The local mosque is continually raising money for us and their children love to come in and spend time with the residents, hand over gifts and talk about their lives.

Paulina Drzewiecka

Paulina is one of Silverline Care’s newer managers, having joined Manorcroft in early December 2019, but don’t let her inexperience with our particular group fool you into thinking she’s a novice, far from it.

She has a wealth of experience from being a front-line nurse in a hospital in her native Poland, through to 10yrs of management experience here in the UK. She is also a tissue viability link nurse having had two articles published on skin integrity.

Paulina says that she is very happy to have joined Silverline Care, and she knew after a very short time that this was a company that she would be happy to work for and be able to give back into Manorcroft as much dedication and support that she has been shown already.

Paulina added: “Silverline Care and I have the same ambition of striving to be the best. As a care home manager you can laugh, cry, witness an overjoyed resident or family bereavement, and that is all in just one day. Life can be unpredictable, but at least with Silverline Care whatever life throws at you there is support when you need it.”
