Silverline Care welcomes relaxation of rules for visiting Scottish Care Homes

We welcome the relaxation of rules regarding visiting relatives in Scottish care homes, including allowing hand-holding.

We are sure the opportunity for greater and more meaningful contact will be a great relief for our residents and their families and our staff.

However, please be aware that care homes must be Covid-free for 28 days for residents to enjoy the relaxed measures. Furthermore, where local restrictions are in place – such as in the central belt area – local guidelines must be followed.

Therefore, it is likely that over the coming weeks, visiting opportunities at some of our homes may vary from others.

We understand this continues to be a difficult time for many but we would encourage contacting the home for the latest information before planning a visit. Should restrictions prevent visiting from being allowed, please also contact the home for information regarding ways to stay connected with your loved ones in our care.

We thank you for your continued understanding and patience during these uncertain times.
