Spiers Care Home – Covid-19 Statement

At the end of last week, following observation of symptoms of potential Covid-19 among several residents at Spiers Care Home in Beith, Silverline Care contacted Public Health Scotland who visited the home over the weekend and conducted tests on those residents.

We are sorry to confirm that it has now been confirmed that four residents at the home have tested positive for Covid-19. In addition, one member of staff has tested positive for the virus. The staff member was tested at a hospital and has not returned to the care home since receiving their diagnosis.

In accordance with professional guidance, the four residents are being provided treatment in isolation and all other residents are being encouraged to isolate within their bedrooms. We are working closely with the local authority and health board to follow best practice guidance at this time for the safety of all residents and staff.

We have notified residents, their families and all members of staff about the situation and our commitment to protect residents and staff.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank staff within the home for their commitment to the residents at this difficult time.

We thank you for your support and understanding and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
