Summer House officially opened at Manorcroft's annual fair

Manorcroft Care Home opened its doors at the weekend for their summer fair.

Our residents, guests, family members and friends all enjoyed a great day of fun.

As well as playing games, listening to live entertainment and eating delicious food, the team also took the opportunity to officially open the home's new summer house.

In what was a very special ceremony, resident Harold gave a moving speech.

Harold has spent a lot of time assisting with the summer house project - he had lots of fun 'overseeing' the workmen and was a great help when the time came to decorating planting the flowers.

Despite his nerves,  Harold explained the house had been funded from money raised at events held at Manorcroft and from donations from the family of our residents both past and present.

Everyone listened as Harold shared our plans to enable residents to sit in and enjoy relaxing in the house throughout the summer and that we are hoping to host our church service in there as well as afternoon teas.

Afterwards, Harold cut the ribbon and the guests had a look around the house, commenting on how lovely it looked.

Everyone at Manorcroft Care Home would like to wish those who came along and helped make the day such a success. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

A very special thank you also goes out to those who supported the project and helped bring the summer house to life - your contributions will never be forgotten.
