Springhill Care Home
80 Portland Road
Kilmarnock KA1 2BS
Springhill is conveniently within walking distance of the centre of Kilmarnock and is set back from the main road in a peaceful garden setting.
Springhill Home offers the ultimate combination of modern facilities and historic grandeur. The original part of the home is a beautiful, listed Georgian building. We have 64 beautifully decorated, spacious bedrooms. The Georgian wing contains 11 spacious bedrooms and three fabulous reception rooms. These rooms have been decorated in a style that is sympathetic to the building’s heritage and period features, while embracing the best of modern technology with the latest sprinkler systems, nurse call systems and en-suite shower rooms for all bedrooms.
Our approach to care
We provide excellent nursing care for the elderly 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We develop a care plan for each resident, taking into account their individual needs which range from those who simply need a little more help to those with acute needs.
We have specialist activities coordinators who visit the home five days a week.
Our coordinators organise events such as classic movie days, craft activities, quizzes, reminiscence sessions and beauty therapy as well as any other activity requested by individual residents. We also organise outings to the theatre, parks and trips for afternoon coffee when the weather allows it. Chaplains of any denomination can visit when requested. Relatives and friends are welcome to join in any of our activities.
We also love to throw a party at Springhill, and birthdays and anniversaries are often celebrated with our chefs baking wonderful cakes.
Springhill has a spacious outside courtyard and garden area with seating which can be enjoyed by residents and visitors whenever the weather permits.
We offer delicious home-style cooking at Springhill.
All our meals are freshly prepared on site by our chefs and residents are given a choice of menu at each meal, including vegetarian options and special dietary requirements.
Our chefs regularly consult with residents to ensure we provide food which is both popular and nutritious. In addition, tea and coffee are served mid morning, mid afternoon and in the evening, although residents may have snacks and drinks at any time.
We are able to take into account any nutritional needs or dietary requirements within an individual’s care plan. Alcoholic drinks are available to residents before and during meals.
