Spiers Care Home in Beith has welcomed pupils from local Garnock Community Campus to participate in a number of activities to help towards their Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Certificate. The pupils have been visiting for the past four weeks and participated in sports activities such as bean bag throwing, kicking balls to each other and throwing objects into hoops. Laura McGuire, manager at Spiers Care Home said: “The residents have thoroughly enjoyed meeting the pupils from Garnock Community Campus and taking part in activities. They have looked forward to each meeting and it has introduced them to things they wouldn’t normally participate it. “It’s been great to see friendships develop between the pupils and the residents during the visits.” One resident, Sadie McNally, was very happy to see that her great grandson Ricky Niblock was one of the pupils taking part.
