Newark care home transform staff room after donation

Newark care home in Port Glasgow has given its staff room a complete make over after Silverline Care support office gave each home money to redecorate. Angela Zahid, who is a care assistant at the home, managed the project and transformed the bare, plain room into a colourful, beautifully equipped space for all staff to enjoy. Angela researched what everyone at Newark would like in the room and what would make the most difference, and then sourced and purchased everything from wallpaper and blinds, to a huge table and sofa. Moira Roberts, Newark care home manager said: “Everyone at Newark is delighted with the end result. I’m positive everyone will enjoy a lovely cup of tea in this beautifully equipped and furnished staff room – what a difference! Rachel Dryden, CEO of Silverline Care said: ”Across Silverline Care homes we are ensuring all staff feel valued and appreciated, and small changes like this can make such a difference. We continue to look after our staff and their wellbeing, by making sure Silverline Care is a great place to work, and providing facilities to allow staff to relax while they are at work.”
